At Black Forest Academy, student residences are staffed by full-time dorm parents and residence assistants, who are actively involved in nurturing and mentoring the students. They also perform the duties of cooking, maintenance, laundry, health care, transportation and many other tasks to provide the utmost care for the students.
The BFA Residence Program is unique for several reasons
- First, the residences are located in the numerous villages surrounding Kandern.
- Boarding students are taught responsibility through daily and weekly assigned chores.
- Each residence builds community and creates its own identity through traditions, weekly dorm fellowship times, and special celebrations throughout the school year.
- Boarding life strives to emulate an atmosphere that encourages and stimulates good interpersonal relationships and acceptance of others.
Providing for Parents of Students
The Residence Program provides parents the option of offering a safe environment and a quality education for their students, while they continue their work at their respective jobs.
