May 23: The Tournament Report
Congratulations to Coach Olson, his staff of coaches, and the Boys’ Track Team! BFA Boys won the European Track Championships for Division II. Big point getters for the team were Trevor Hope who was the 800 meter champion and 4th place finisher in the 1500; Ben Kronk who was 5th in the 1500; Andrew Lindberg, 5th in the 200 meter dash; David Grano, 6th in the 1500; and the boys’ sprint medley team, which was third.
And the girls did not come home empty handed either as their sprint medley team finished in 5th place. Hopefully the Stars and Stripes will have all the results and times on their website by tomorrow.
DODDS European Track Highlights
Track & Field has been competing in DODDS longer than any other BFA sport. The BFA track teams were very strong in DODDS competition in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. There has been a resurgence in track the last few seasons with a number of terrific individual athletes and none better than BFA record breaker in the long jump and 200 m, Kaitlyn Kieffer.
