Continuing education is offered as part of the Christian education ministry of Black Forest Academy.

Our teachers and staff members have the opportunity to earn advanced academic degrees and certificates right here in Kandern, Germany.

Graduate Studies

BFA offers a Continuing Education Grant Program whereby BFA staff and faculty can receive funding to help pay tuition for advanced degrees.

Cairn University (formerly Philadelphia Biblical University) offers training in Christian pedagogy, an area not covered in the state-run teacher training institutions. A master’s degree in education or educational leadership and administration can be earned through this program right on the BFA campus in Kandern.

Cairn University is an accredited member of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is permitted to grant a Master of Science in Education degree by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The program hosted by Black Forest Academy leads to an M.S.Ed. with minors in administration, early childhood, elementary education, international education, or school counseling.

For the international teacher and school administrator, this program offers the opportunity to improve the quality of education in schools for missionary children while extending a missionary’s longevity on the field. For the national Christian teacher the program offers an excellent education from a Christian perspective.

Thirty-three credits of course work are required for the degree. Six credits of Bible are also required. Graduate and undergraduate credits earned at other institutions may be applied to this Bible requirement. For further program, application, registration, or scholarship information, see the Cairn University website or email the admissions office.
