Every Easter Break, Black Forest Academy provides students with life changing opportunities to serve others around the world. From Europe to Africa, BFA students work in small teams to serve in completing small construction projects, cross-cultural engagement, and child care. These trips serve as tremendous opportunities for growth for our students, as they sacrifice their school break for a chance to participate in globally minded service.

Lisbon, Portugal

The main service will be organizing and leading an English/Sports Camp for kids connected with our contact. This will involve many activities including music, English lessons, Bible lessons, crafts, face painting, and sports.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The team will be serving with workers in Ethiopia helping those who live and work at the local dump by painting houses, teaching English and playing with children in the community. They will also be leading the Home School Retreat for students in the area.

Bled, Slovenia

The team will be partnering with workers in Bled who perform dramas for a children’s club and distribute literature. They will also be connecting with locals and attending and performing in a local church service.

Athens, Greece

The team will be partnering with existing ministries who are working with refugees. Students will be ministering to refugees through serving food, doing laundry, assisting with construction and teaching English.

Tinca, Romania

In partnership with the local German Christian school, Freie Evangelische Schule, the team will be doing maintenance of school facilities for members of the local Roma community in the Romanian village of Tinca.

Kathmandu, Nepal

The team will be practically serving the people of Nepal, and gain awareness of the material poverty in Nepal and Hindu culture. Students will be visiting rural schools, teaching English and engaging with Nepali youth.

Tangier, Morocco

The team will have the opportunity to take part in a cultural exchange through excursions and interactive activities like hiking and rock climing, helping in an orphanage and interacting with locals.

Moirowa, Tanzania

The team will be serving the people in the Maasai village of Moirowa near Longido. They will be camping in tents with other youth on this YoungLife service project. The team will be interacting with the local community through work projects like building and painting.

Odessa, Ukraine

The team will have the opportunity to serve at the Balta Orphanage outside Odessa. The team will lead a mini camp for the children, many of whom are war refugees from Eastern Ukraine. They will also help with homework, painting and construction.
